Weber State Students Without a Valid SSN or TIN on File
If you have been directed to this page, it is likely that you have not provided a valid Social Security Number (SSN) or Federal Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) to Weber State University during your admission process, and will need to file a W-9S form with the university.
Weber State is required to have a valid identification number on file for each student to properly report information to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
If you have made tuition or other payments to Weber State during this calendar year, you may be eligible to receive IRS form 1098-T and take advantage of Educational Benefits under IRS rules.
Go to Pub. 970, Tax Benefits for Education; Form 8863, Education Credits; and the Form 1040 instructions for more information.
To submit your SSN or TIN, download the IRS Form W-9S: Request for Student's or Borrower's Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification.
If you have additional questions, please contact the Office of the Bursar at 801-626-7877 or taxcredit@weber.edu.
