Smart Start Repayment Program
Weber State University’s Smart Start Repayment Program can help students who are experiencing a short-term or unexpected financial hardship that prevents them from paying back an unpaid tuition balance.
The program allows students to continue their education as long as they are making positive academic and financial progress.
To check eligibility and enroll in the program, contact the Collection Office by emailing collections@weber.edu, calling 801-626-7004 or texting 385-314-4605.
Smart Start Repayment Program Benefits
- Students will have the ability to register for an upcoming semester.
- Student’s unpaid semester balance will be brought current and returned to regular payment status with a reduction of interest and no additional fees.
- Credit bureaus will be instructed to remove the account from the student’s credit history upon completion of the program.
- Students can request to have their transcripts and/or diploma released:
- If pending financial aid, scholarship or sponsorship payments are sufficient to cover outstanding balance(s), or;
- If over 50% of the unpaid semester balance has been paid with on-time regular payments under this program.
- Utah State Tax Commission refunds will not be garnished to repay a student’s debt.

Payment detail information is available from the Student Account Suite in eWeber. Look at the Current Activity and Semester activity to see payment dates for the current academic year.
