Civil Rights Advocacy Workshop

12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. | Shepherd Union room 321

In conjunction with the Human Rights Club at Weber State, the MLK Advocacy Workshop invites students to explore how advocacy shaped the Civil Rights Movement and how it continues to show up in everyday life today.

Connected to the interactive pop-up museum in the Fireplace Lounge (available January 20–23), this workshop provides students with real-life scenarios to spark discussion and collaboration. Participants will work together to brainstorm practical ways to advocate for themselves and others, drawing connections between historical moments in the Civil Rights Movement and modern-day advocacy. Through shared experiences, discussion, and reflection, students will gain tools to recognize advocacy in action and feel empowered to apply these strategies in their own lives. Lunch and swag will be provided
