Global Learning Experiences

Choose one of many study abroad and international exchange opportunities offered at Weber State University. If you participate in Short-Term Study Abroad or an International Exchange, you are eligible to complete the program as a HIEE Global Learning Experience. You can even repeat an experience!

• What is the time commitment?

  From one week to one or more semesters.

• What information must I verify in GivePulse?

  In GivePulse, verify the study abroad program's location and the learning outcome of the experience.

• What should I include in my ePortfolio?

  In your ePortfolio, reflect on your international experience, the skills you developed and how this experience will impact your future.

You can acquire a Global Learning Experience by registering for Global Learning (GLB) attribute courses! All students are eligible and all types of GLB courses apply (first and second block or full semester). After you are enrolled in a course with a GLB attribute, you must sign up to get started through Wildcat Advantage. You can even receive credit for enrolling in more than one GLB course.

• How do I participate in this HIEE?

  After you sign up for a course with a GLB attribute and complete the course with a passing grade, verify participation with Shannon Stephens Sandau at shannonstephens@weber.edu.

• What information must I verify in GivePulse?

  In GivePulse, verify the course title, materials covered in the course and global learning outcomes.

• What should I include in my ePortfolio?

  In your ePortfolio, reflect on the learning outcomes and skills developed in class.

Help us create activities for international students or become a Global Ambassador and engage with our exchange students! All students can participate and repeat HIEEs; however, the Global Ambassador Program is only eligible for those selected. Time commitment varies between activities and events.

• How do I participate in this HIEE?

  If you have been assigned as an Ambassador and fulfill your role for the entire semester, you will be assigned an event/activity to help plan and run. Some of these activities include but are not limited to International Education Week in the fall and the International Banquet in the spring.
  
  If you have an internationally minded project that you would like to complete, this may also be considered a HIEE. If you have ideas or questions, please reach out!

  In GivePulse, verify the hours spent participating in the planning and execution of the event and the learning outcomes.

• What should I include in my ePortfolio?

  Your ePortfolio should reflect what skills you developed and how this experience will help you in the future.
