Limited Radiographer Certificate of Proficiency

The Limited Radiographer Certificate program is an 18-credit program that provides classroom instruction and clinical simulation. Students learn radiologic physics, anatomy, radiographic procedures, positioning, and patient assessment.

This program prepares you for Utah's Limited Radiology Practical Technician exam, which will allow you to begin working in the field at outpatient facilities or clinics.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND REGISTRATION INFO


The Limited Radiographer Certificate program includes seven courses for a total of 18 credit hours. RADT 1021, RADT 1023, RADT 1024 and RADT 1025 must all be taken together in the same semester.

  • Radiologic Technology Classes

    Students must take all five of the following classes for this certificate program. Register for “RADT” classes using the following Course Registration Numbers (CRN).

    • RADT 1021: Limited Clinical Simulation (1 credit)

    • RADT 1022: Introduction to Radiologic Technology (2)
      • CRN 25404
    • RADT 1023: Limited Radiographic Anatomy & Positioning (2)
      • CRN 25406
    • RADT 1024: Limited Principles of Radiographic Exposure (3)

    • RADT 1025: Limited Patient Care and Assessment (2)
      • CRN 25408
  • Science Classes

    Students must also complete two science classes from one of the following two options. Days and times of these science classes vary.

    Option One

    HTHS 2110 LS: Integrated Human Anatomy and Physiology I (4), and
    HTHS 2111: Integrated Human Anatomy and Physiology II (4)

    Science Option Two

    ZOOL 2320: Human Anatomy (4), and
    ZOOL 2420 LS: Human Physiology (4)

LPT PROGRAM


Students can take four classes—RADT 1021, RADT 1023, RADT 1024, and RADT 1025—as part of our noncertificate Limited Practical Technologist (LPT) program, and be prepared to take Utah's Limited Radiology Practical Technician Exam

Students who are LPT certified will receive additional points when applying for our Associate of Applied Science in Radiography program.

Students are charged undergraduate tuition and fee rates for the Limited Radiographer Certificate program.
