Master of Science in Radiologic Sciences (MSRS)

The Master of Science in Radiologic Sciences program accepts applications beyond our admission deadlines until our capacity is met. Our individual emphasis pages list specific admissions deadlines and requirements.

Students with questions about admission into the MSRS program are encouraged to contact the MSRS Graduate Program Enrollment Director.

• Admission Requirements

  Applicants must hold a regionally accredited undergraduate bachelor’s degree in health science, including, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing.

  The following criteria are expected for those applying to the MSRS program:

  • A cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher
  • Official undergraduate transcripts
  • Provide the email addresses of three references to complete a recommendation online
  • Provide a resume
  • Provide an essay
  • Nonrefundable $60 application fee

• International Student Applicants

  Before applying to the MSRS program, international students should email msrs@weber.edu for advising information, as application fees are nonrefundable.

  Admission Exceptions

  Radiologist Assistant (RA) Emphasis

  International students are not eligible to apply for the Radiologist Assistant (RA) emphasis. 

  Medical Imaging Leadership Emphasis

  International students living in the United States are not eligible to apply for this virtual emphasis. Applicants must be living internationally.

  International Student Admission Criteria

  International students are initially evaluated for eligibility based on their educational background and English language proficiency. Foreign credentials must then be evaluated.

  • How to Evaluate Foreign Credentials
    1. Provide professional transcript evaluation. Applicants must have a Weber State University-accepted bachelor’s degree to be considered for admission. All applicants educated outside the US must submit transcripts that a WSU-approved foreign credentials evaluation service has evaluated.

    2. Transcripts must be evaluated course by course, showing US semester credit and grade equivalent for each course based on a 4.0 GPA scale. A translated transcript is not acceptable. Weber State must receive the official transcript evaluation.
    3. Provide evidence of English language proficiency. Submit an official score from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Scores are only valid for two years from the date the test was taken.
       TOEFL score requirements: You must score at least 75 overall, with a minimum of 17 in each category. TOEFL institutional code for WSU: 4941.
       IELTS score requirements: You must score a 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in each category. 
    4. Email copies of the evaluated transcript and English language assessment results to msrs@weber.edu to determine eligibility.

  
  International Student Eligibility Requirements

  Once the evaluation of your foreign education and English language proficiency has been completed, the School of Radiologic Sciences will notify you to proceed with the application if you meet the eligibility requirements. Completing this process does not guarantee acceptance.

  • Additional Admissions Criteria

    Additional criteria to be considered for acceptance into the program include:

    • Complete the online application for the MSRS Program.
    • Payment of the MSRS program application fee
    • Respond to an essay question.
    • Provide a resume.
    • Provide evaluated foreign transcripts.
    • Provide an English language assessment. 
    • Provide healthcare certifications, if any.
    • Provide the email addresses of three references to complete a recommendation online.
    • Meet international student requirements. Seek advising or assistance from the WSU International Student and Scholar Center at 801-626-6853 or intladmissions@weber.edu.

   

  Graduate students must first apply and be accepted by the MSRS graduate program before admission can be processed for Weber State University.
