Apply for Associate of Applied Science

Students interested in applying for the Associate of Applied Science in Radiography program in the Weber State University School of Radiologic Sciences should read the following information to understand the application process.

HOW TO APPLY

• Step 1: Apply to Weber State

  You must apply to Weber State before applying to a School of Radiologic Sciences program.

  If you are already a Weber State student, proceed to step two.

  If you are not a WSU student, apply for admission to Weber State in order to receive a student ID number, called a "W" number, and a student email account.

  You will need a “W” number and a student email account in order to complete all applications.

  Students applying to our radiography programs should select the “Associate of Science in Health Sciences, Radiologic Sciences” track when applying to WSU. This is temporary until you’re accepted into a radiography program, at which time the School of Radiologic Sciences will change your program of study to radiography.

• Step 2: Prerequisite Class Requirements

  Applicants must complete the following classes before applying to our radiography programs. Some programs may have certain additional or fewer prerequisite requirements, which are noted.

  Classes can be completed at WSU or another accredited institution. The WSU Transfer website has more information about course equivalencies and transferring credits.

  Science Prerequisites

  Students must complete one of the following two sets of science prerequisites before applying:

  Science Option 1

  • ZOOL 2320: Human Anatomy (4 credits)
  • ZOOL 2420 LS: Human Physiology (4)

  Science Option 2

  • HTHS 2110 LS: Integrated Human Anatomy and Physiology I (4)
  • HTHS 2111: Integrated Human Anatomy and Physiology II (4)

  If you are enrolled in prerequisite anatomy and physiology classes during the current fall semester, wait until the semester's grades have been posted to your transcript before uploading transcripts and submitting your application.

  General Education Prerequisite Requirements

  Although not required to apply, you will need to complete the following classes before the program starts in the fall:

  • ENGL 1010 EN1: Introductory College Writing (3)
  • ENGL 2010 EN2: Intermediate College Writing (3)
  • COMM 1020 HU: Principles of Public Speaking (3), or COMM 2110 HU CEL: Interpersonal and Small Group Communication (3)
  • MATH 1030 QL: Contemporary Mathematics (3), or higher
  • PSY 1010 SS: Introductory Psychology (3)
  • 3 credits of a Physical Sciences (PS) or Life Sciences (LS) course

• Step 3: Submit an Online Application

  Fill out your application as completely as possible. All information provided will be used in the selection process for the program.

  Incomplete applications will automatically be disqualified. All documents must be submitted as PDFs.

  All application requirements will be prompted to be completed within the online application. There will be individual pages for applicant information, academic history, uploading transcripts, uploading certifications, uploading a personal essay and submitting references. 

  Any information you have entered or changed is automatically saved whenever you move from one section of the form to another. You may also save your information at any time by clicking on the "Save" button. You may move from section to section in the application process by clicking on the links to the left or by clicking the "Next" button at the bottom of the screen.

  You may log out and return to your application at any point in the process.

  You must submit the following with your application:

  • Official or unofficial college transcripts, including WSU transcripts
    • It is the student's responsibility to provide all documentation, proof of courses completed and/or degrees awarded.
  • Medical and/or health-related certifications (if any) 
    • Examples include CNA, CCT or EKG, EMT, LPT, MA, Phlebotomist, etc. 
      • You must provide proof of certification.
    • These certifications do not need to be active.
  • Personal Essay
    • An essay prompt will be given on the application.
  • Three references
    • Current email addresses are needed for your references. School of Radiologic Sciences faculty can’t serve as references.
  • Proposed clinical site (Arizona and Montana programs only)
    • You must include a letter from the clinical site you plan on learning at, stating they are willing to take you as a student.
    • If you don't have a clinical site set up, you will have the option within the application to select preferred locations for placement.
  • A $25 application fee for each program location you apply to (except Arizona and Montana programs)
