Quick FAQs
Do I have to be struggling to get a mentor?
No. Mentoring is for everyone. You don’t need to be “behind” to benefit.
What do I talk about with my mentor?
Whatever you need! Classes, time management, getting involved, stress, goals, or just figuring things out. We’re here to help.
How often do I meet with my mentor?
That depends on your needs and goals! We recommend meeting with your mentor at least once a month for one hour, but you are welcome to meet with your mentor(s) more if you would like additional support.
Is this like academic advising or tutoring?
Not exactly. Peer mentors don’t replace advisors or tutors. They help you navigate college and connect you to the right resources when needed, while encouraging you to be the best you can be.
Is there a cost to join?
Nope. Peer mentoring is free for students!
