About the Award
The EAST Merit Scholar is an annual award established by the dean of the EAST college to encourage scholarship within the college, promote collaboration, and connect faculty to available resources.
Award Amount
$2,000 awarded annually to support scholarship activities
Term of Service
Fall semester through end of Spring semester
Responsibilities
- Reach out to faculty about scholarship-related resources and possible collaboration opportunities
- Conduct mentoring sessions as needed
- Report to the scholarship committee once in the fall and once in the spring

Eligibility & Application
Eligibility
The award is open to any faculty member in the EAST college with a track record of scholarly work who is willing to share experience and knowledge with and mentor fellow faculty.
Application Requirements
- CV (emphasizing scholarship)
- Statement of interest including willingness to mentor others (500 words or less)
