NEW Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT): Summer Internship
The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Site at RIT is inviting applications for summer 2026. In our program, undergraduate students will experience research and other career-enhancing activities in an interdisciplinary environment with special focus on Computational Sensing for Human-centered AI (Generative AI focus).
The REU students will receive a stipend of up to $6300, up to $700 for travel, and up to $1125 for meals. They will also be housed on RIT’s campus.

Position Summary
Support day-to-day jobsite operations across multiple active projects. This is a field leadership role focused on jobsite coordination, communication, documentation, safety, cleanliness, and keeping work moving.
Schedule & Reliability
• On-site and signed in by 7:00 AM
• Consistent attendance and reliable transportation are required.
• Must be comfortable commuting between job sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities
• Daily jobsite walk-throughs: safety, quality, cleanliness, floor protection, and organization.
• Coordinate subcontractors: access, sequencing, deliveries, daily priorities, and follow-up.
• Complete daily reporting: photos + short written update of progress/issues.
• Support punch lists, blue tape walks, closeout tasks, and inspections.
• Maintain jobsite presence and represent Gurr Construction professionally.
Requirements
• Construction experience preferred (commercial TI/remodel experience is a plus).
• Able to communicate clearly with subcontractors, inspectors, and owner reps (as needed).
• Willing to complete OSHA 10 (or already certified).
• Able to lift 50 lbs and perform light physical tasks when needed.
• Experience with Bluebeam is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
• $26–$30/hr depending on experience.
• Vehicle allowance: $400/month | Phone allowance: $100/month.
• Company card provided for approved job-related purchases (fuel/materials).
• Growth path into Superintendent role for the right candidate.

SHIFT SCHEDULE:

Option A: Tuesday 12pm-5pm, Wednesday 4pm-8pm, Thursday 12pm-5pm, alternating weekends (Saturdays 8am-noon or Sunday 10am-2pm). If you have AM availability in addition to PM availability, that is a major plus.
Option B: Monday 4pm-8pm, Tuesday 8am-noon, Wednesday 8am-11am, Thursday 8am-noon, Friday 11am-2pm, alternating weekends (Saturdays 8am-noon or Sunday 10am-2pm). If you have AM availability in addition to PM availability, that is a major plus.
