WSU Charter Academy is working to establish an after-school program that provides students with a safe, supportive, and engaging environment at the end of the school day.

Program Hours

Our goal is to offer the program during the following hours:

Monday–Thursday: 3:30–5:00 p.m.
Friday: 1:30–3:00 p.m.

Program Fee

The fee for the after-school program will be $10 per student, per day.

Program fees will help cover staffing costs and allow us to maintain a safe, low student-to-staff ratio. Our initial plan is to serve up to 16 students with two staff members.

Activities and Student Support

Students participating in the after-school program will have opportunities to:

• Enjoy a snack

• Participate in academic enrichment or intervention activities, as needed

• Complete homework, if desired

• Engage in creative and recreational activities

• Play and socialize with friends

All activities will take place within the safe and familiar environment of WSU Charter Academy.

Staffing and Supervision

The program will operate under the administrative oversight of the WSU Charter Academy Director. Trained Weber State University student employees will provide direct, on-site supervision and support for students each day.

We plan to hire staff through Weber State University’s 50/50 Student Employment Program, which helps support staffing costs while providing meaningful employment opportunities for current university students.

Program Availability

The after-school program is currently contingent upon our ability to hire qualified staff.

Job postings have been submitted to Weber State University’s Human Resources Department and are expected to be posted soon. We are optimistic that we will be able to hire responsible Weber State students who enjoy working with children.

Those who know a qualified Weber State student are encouraged to share this opportunity and direct interested applicants to the Jobs at Weber website once the positions are posted.

Enrollment Interest Form

Families who may be interested in using the after-school program should complete the After-School Program Enrollment Form.

Responses will help us:

• Determine the level of family interest

• Finalize staffing needs

• Plan daily attendance and program activities

• Determine whether there is sufficient enrollment to move forward

Completing the form indicates interest and assists with planning but does not guarantee enrollment. Additional information regarding registration, payment procedures, program policies, and the official start date will be shared as plans are finalized.
