Our Lab School Model
WSU Charter Academy is a lab school on the Weber State University campus, designed to support both student learning and teacher preparation.
Each classroom includes:
- A highly qualified mentor teacher
- A paraprofessional providing targeted support
- Weber State University teacher candidates gaining hands-on experience
This model allows for:
- Increased individual attention
- More frequent instructional “touchpoints”
- Immediate use of research-based teaching strategies
- A strong bridge between university learning and real classroom
Student Outcomes
We are proud of the growth our students achieve through intentional instruction and support:
- 91% of students at or above benchmark in reading
- 100% of students demonstrated "typical or better" growth in reading
- 82% of students scoring at or above benchmark in math
- 100% of students demonstrated "typical or better" growth in math
