How did being a mentor benefit you?

It opened me up to many learning opportunities. I learned a lot about myself and others through mentoring. It's also been nice getting to know others around campus and work on networking skills.

What is your most meaningful memory with a mentee?

I was volunteering at a Bazaar and I ran into one of my mentees and he was excited to see me. Fast forward a few minutes later and he brought his mom over to meet me. She told me she heard great things about me and for me, that was very meaningful. I've met a few mentee's parents and it's been so nice to get to know that my mentees value me as a mentor.

What would you tell someone thinking about joining a mentor program?

I would say that it'd be a great opportunity to get involved on campus. I started as a mentee in the program and it allowed me to grow and learn lots of new things about myself. The Peer Mentor Program is great and I'd recommend it to anyone because it really made a positive/meaningful impact on my college experience.
