Peer Mentor Training and Certification

The Eduology Peer Mentor Training course is a national program that helps peer educators learn about skills they can develop to mentor peers successfully.

Eduology Peer Mentor Training Course

• What is Eduology?
  Through the Peer Mentor Training Course, mentors will learn about and develop critical skills necessary to be successful as peer educators and mentors. The training program includes 14 short learning modules covering a range of topics from the roles and responsibilities to building rapport to referral skills. The modules include readings, activities, videos, and more.
• How do I complete the training?
  Peer educators can register for the online Peer Mentor Training course with our Google Form. Students are then provided access to a self-paced training platform where they will complete the 14 modules (about eight hours). The platform saves students’ progress so they can complete it in sections. Contact the Office of Mentoring Programs with questions about accessing this training program. 
• Is there a cost to completing the training?
  Peer educators can register for Eduology’s Peer Mentor Training course at no cost to their department when they use the form above and commit to fully completing the training. The Office of Mentoring Programs covers the cost of the training. Should a student not complete the training, their program will be contacted for reimbursement to cover the cost of the training.
• What happens after I complete the training?
  After you reach the end of the learning modules and check for understanding, you will have the option to access a certificate of completion. Please print or otherwise save a copy of the certificate and send it to mentors@weber.edu to verify your completion, and so that our office can update our records.
