ABOUT

Karen Hicks joined the Goddard School of Business & Economics in September of 2019. Before joining the team, she spent the last 12 years at a small private liberal arts college working in advising, retention, orientation, and disability services; she even taught a few courses. She has been advising students regarding academic questions for over 22 years. She has spent over 20 years in higher education because she enjoys watching what students can become as they find their passion and purpose. 

Her piece of advice: Know that you will have challenges and setbacks but don’t let that stop you from believing in yourself. You will triumph over a lot of those challenges and setbacks or they will put you onto a different and possibly better path. Just never give up!
