Goddard School Career Services

Our goal is to make sure you come out with a career, further advancement or additional opportunities, not just a degree. At the Goddard School Career Center, you'll find comprehensive career and employment services to support your career and the industries we serve. This includes helping you to find quality internships and permanent employment. Through our close connections with HR directors and recruiters of major employers, we coordinate on-campus recruiting to arrange company presentations and schedule interviews.

We also provide graduate seminars, workshops and — most importantly — personal attention.

STUDENT SUCCESS STORIES

VY

"Brett, I am so grateful for the time you spent reviewing my career objectives and for recommending strategies to achieve them. I am excited to let you know that I just got a job offer and will start the new job at Field Marketing Manager on Dec 1. Not only that, but you also suggest that I go to several career fairs on campus. Because of that, I got another job offer to work for the company after I graduate in April 2018.  Thank you so much for being such a good mentor and helping me realize my potential."  (read Vy's full story)

"The Goddard School’s Career Services helped me to learn important skills that would aid me in searching for a job, creating resumes and cover letters, and interviewing. They encouraged me to start looking for an internship early in my degree. Upon starting my search I came across and landed an internship that is going to help my career a lot."

"I read the emails that I got from Career Services and I started to use the new tool called handshake. I completed my profile and then saw how good that tool is for searching jobs that match my skills and characteristics. Therefore, I applied for several positions that I liked and got called for an interview. I saw that one company that I had applied had a spot on the industry night and that they had a presentation event the next day. I went to both meetings and talked with the people representing the firm. This experience allowed me to make an impact and to present my skills and desire in a more direct interaction."   (read Juan's full story)

Calvin

When applying for jobs they helped connect me with individuals at the company I was applying at that helped me get interviews. And perhaps more importantly than anything else, in working with them they helped me think through what would be important for me in a job and pursue the jobs that would help me meet those goals. "When I got accepted from U of U, UVU, and Weber State University. Weber State University was actually my least favorite option because it was too far from my home and I was planning to commute from my home. However, when I emailed all the three schools with the questions I had, Weber State University promptly responded. I heard back from U of U a few days later and I didn’t hear back anything from UVU. I thought that Weber State University would have many good faculty and other staff who would help me on my way to career." (read Mijoo's full story)
