Business Advisory Council

The Goddard School offers invitations to WSU alumni and friends to serve on our Business Advisory Council.

The council provides:

  • A link between management education in the Goddard School and management practice within the business community
  • Advice on present and proposed programs and activities in areas such as curriculum, executive education and degree requirements
  • Opportunities for faculty and students to become involved with the business community through internships, service learning and management consulting
  • Opportunities to work with the dean and other members of the Goddard School faculty and staff to promote the school, build its recognition in the community and obtain new resources to enhance opportunities for students and faculty

The full council meets 3 times a year at WSU. For questions or comments about the council, contact Jeff Steagall or Mary Ann Boles.

MEET OUR BUSINESS ADVISORY BOARD

CHAIR

DIANA GEORGE
chair; Goddard School of Business & Economics Advisory Board

As a member of the advisory council and current chair, I have had the privilege to learn, grow, and collaborate regarding the future of Weber State University and the Goddard School of Business & Economics. The ability to help and encourage others obtain their education means so much to me!

During my service on the council, I have been able to work with students, facility, and community members to focus on the future and the relevance of education in the classroom, on campus, and online. Weber State University and the Goddard School of Business & Economics is an excellent resource because they are proactive in engaging the local business community to address the current talent needs. In addition to partnering with the business school to develop technical talent, we have the opportunity to mentor students and encourage the growth of strong leaders.

I have also had the personal privilege of working closely with Dean Steagall.  This incredible opportunity has influenced me individually and professionally, leading to the acquisition of my Master of Taxation degree from the Goddard School of Business & Economics. As a business professional who has been directly involved in strategic and financial management, the programs and faculty from the Goddard School of Business & Economics are world-class, providing the students a top-notch education and the business community with impeccable talent. It has been an honor to serve, influence, and become part of the Weber State University community.
