Summer Semester Challenge- Summer of Gratitude

Do you ever feel that you are caught up in the motions of life, but actually stop to enjoy the small moments? Keeping a gratitude journal can help with taking a minute each day to step back and reflect on the good things that have happened.

Gratitude can help you to appreciate the small joys in life and become less dependent on material “happiness”. Those who express gratitude on a regular basis have been shown to increase overall happiness, improve relationships, increase work productivity, and reduce perceived stress.  Other benefits of keeping a gratitude journal include:

  • Better sleep (calmness)
  • Clarity in your life’s journey
  • Learning what really matters most to you
  • Becoming more self-aware
  • Reminders of wonderful life truly is!

During the summer semester, you will be challenged to keep a gratitude journal for 75 days (5 days, 15 weeks). You will have the choice to write or photograph your journal entries.

Each week, you will be emailed a quick note that will explain other areas in your life that expressing gratitude can improve, as well as potential writing prompts.

1- Register by May 18th

2- Download your tracking sheet (Available May 4th) You have the option to keep your journal in a written or photographic format.

3- Return your tracking sheet before by Friday, August 17th 

You may complete this challenge any time during the 2018 calendar year. Tracking sheets returned to Employee Wellness after the due date will not accrue points to the Wellness Store, but may be used towards the Wellness Pays Rewards Program.

  • Upon completion of Semester Challenges, participants will earn points that they can then trade in for a product through the Wellness Store
  • Semester Challenges count as Wellness Pays Rewards activities! Complete one semester challenges and earn $20.
