Fabrication Lab

Designed as a space for learning, creating and innovating, the fabrication lab, or Fab Lab, serves our Weber State community. Students, staff, and faculty have access to the range of high and low-tech equipment to make their vision come to life. All supplies are provided for student use. Our lab cannot mass produce any projects. If you need a specific resource that we don’t provide or for any questions, please contact us.

Equipment

3D Printing

Our Bambu printer is capable of many incredible prints. Using Tinkercad, we can teach you how to create many different useful learning tools for your future class. We will also show you how to send print jobs to our printer.

Cricut

One of our most unique machines, this can cut various paper and vinyl materials, draw with great precision, and more. We can teach you how to use it, but the minimum experience needed is basic knowledge of softwares such as Adobe Express and Canva.

Laser Engraving

Our most impressive machine, we can laser engrave and cut any plywood and cardboard piece to your specifications. We can show you how to turn your project into a beautiful engraved piece of work! Note, for safety reasons, please do not step away from the machine during use. For reference, please use our safety plan posted in the Fab Lab.

Sewing and Embroidery

Our lab provides two sewing machines for your use. Embroidery can be performed by one of these machines as well. Our staff can show you how to sew and embroider your projects.
