AWARD CATEGORIES
-
Frantz Family Research Endowment
One award per year is available to undergraduate students with a minimum 12-credit-hour load who have a declared major in the College of Science at the time of application. Preference is given to qualifying students with demonstrated financial need who can show that the award will allow them to reduce work hours or increase their ability to stay in school, while taking into account other scholarships, fellowships, awards, or stipends.
-
Thompson Science Research Program
Funds are available for stipends for one or more student researchers, as well as research project material expenses outlined in a faculty-approved research project budget. Proposals are also accepted to help defray publication fees for co-authored research publications and student and faculty travel expenses to present research results at professional conferences.
-
Jim S. Bateman Undergraduate Research Fund
Funding is available to help defray the costs of College of Science student field camps, science-related study abroad research experiences, science-related internships, undergraduate research fellowships, and undergraduate research material costs.
-
Pope M. and Grace C. Burkhart Undergraduate Research Fellowship
Fellowships are awarded competitively to qualifying students in the College of Science to support undergraduate research projects. These fellowships provide Weber State students with the opportunity to receive compensation for their research experiences rather than seeking temporary employment unrelated to their education. Students may begin their projects during the fall or spring terms and continue their work over the summer, providing valuable support and access to faculty engaged in long-term research.
