  • This is used with almost every scholarship application you will submit, and thus, is important.
  • It should show the reader why you are interested in and qualify for the scholarship.
  • Be professional and educational while letting your personality and interests shine!
  • Write it over, and over, and over - grammar matters!
  • Listen to friends, relatives, and professors/teachers feedback, then write it again!
  • The dedication to a well-writen statement will payoff in actual monetary outcomes.

Letters of Recommendation

  • Your faculty are great candidates.
  • Request letters often, not waiting until you know what scholarship you are applying for and their deadlines.
  • Give your professors plenty of time to write their letters, 4 weeks is sufficient.
  • Don't be afraid to ask! Your faculty want you to succeed.

Networking

  • People and the relationships you have will impact the journey you are on. Build them!
  • Consider a student business card and give them to people, organizations, or institutions you connect with during seminars, classes, etc.
  • Develop a social media relationship with organizations who offer scholarships that resonate with your goals.
  • Volunteer with organizations, clubs, and institutions who offer scholarships that resonate with your goals.
