Spring 2026 Cohort
Elevate your online teaching and earn up to $1,000 in stipends through our Spring 2026 grant program. This initiative helps faculty enhance student success through improved course design, accessibility, and Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI).
Pathways to Success
Instructors accepted into the program select one fully online course to improve. Choose a pathway:
- Pathway 1: Introduction to eLearning ($500 Stipend)
Master the foundations of instructional design. This self-paced course covers RSI guidelines, digital pedagogy, and basic accessibility. You will apply these principles directly to your selected course. - Pathway 2: WSU Online Spring Challenge ($500 Stipend)
A guided, systematic remediation of accessibility errors. You will work through 10 challenges to measurably improve your course Ally score and remove barriers to student learning. - Pathway 3: Comprehensive Improvement ($1,000 Stipend)
Complete both the Introduction to eLearning course and the Spring Challenge for the same selected course.
Eligibility & Qualifications
To be eligible for this grant, you must:
- Be a WSU faculty or adjunct instructor (Note: Concurrent Enrollment courses are not eligible).
- Teach a fully online course with a current accessibility score below 80%.
- Commit to completing all requirements by April 17, 2026*.
Exclusions:
- You are ineligible for Pathway 1 if you have previously completed "Intro to eLearning."
- You are ineligible for Pathway 2 if you completed the Spring Challenge in 2025.
- If you have completed a Best Practices Course Review for your selected course, you must choose a different course for this grant.
Selection & Waitlist Policy
To ensure the greatest impact on student success, applications will be reviewed based on the following priority:
- Alignment with Eligibility: Verified online course status and current accessibility score (< 80%).
- Course Impact: Priority may be given to courses with the lowest initial accessibility scores.
- Faculty Balance: We are committed to awarding 50% of available grants to adjunct faculty.
- Submission Date: Beyond the criteria above, applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Waitlist & Attrition
Once the 100-participant cap is reached, additional qualified applicants will be placed on a priority waitlist. Should an accepted participant opt-out or fail to make progress, their spot and funding will be reassigned to the next person on the waitlist.
