ANNA
accounting '22 (outstanding grad)

I came to Weber expecting greatness, both from myself and the school, and I have not been disappointed. Just take it one day at a time, and you'll get there."

WHY WEBER STATE?

I grew up in Ogden about 5 minutes from the University. I was always surrounded by purple and white, and two of my older siblings attended Weber. It was almost a given that I would attend Weber. It was close, affordable, and familiar. What I didn't expect when I came here was such an incredible education. The faculty, staff, teachers, and peers are all amazing individuals that all want you to succeed. I have never regretted the fact that I ended up at Weber.

WHY ACCOUNTING?

Among other things, I wanted a job that allowed for me to work remotely and/or to be able to travel. I also wanted a career that would give me job security. After assessing different majors and all the things that I wanted, it seemed to me that accounting was the best fit. I have loved it, and I look forward to the vast array of career possibilities awaiting me.

INCREDIBLE ACCESS

In my opinion, the teachers at the Goddard School are so special and helpful. In my four years at Weber, almost every single one of my professors was so ready and willing to do everything in their power to help me succeed. I truly owe so much to each and every one of them. They make Goddard the incredible school that it is.

FACULTY IMPACT

Valerie Chambers: She made a huge impact not only through her excellent teaching, but also in giving me an opportunity to grade for her. Over the last two years, I have gotten to know her better and she has proven a wonderful mentor/friend both in and out of the classroom. I wouldn't be where I am today without her.
Gavin Roberts: One of the best professors here at Weber. He goes out of his way to help his students. He teaches in a way that makes students want to learn, and he brings fun into the classroom. Such a wonderful teacher.

ADVICE

Aim high. You can achieve whatever it is you set your mind on. If that is mediocrity, then that is what you will get. I came to Weber expecting greatness, both from myself and the school, and I have not been disappointed. Just take it one day at a time, and you'll get there.

WHAT ARE YOUR CAREER ASPIRATIONS?

I would like to work for one of the big four accounting firms for a couple of years to get experience. After that, I will be looking for a job that will allow me to feed my travel bug. Whether that be working remotely, seasonally, or other, I love travel and I want a job that will let me do that.
