Learning Support and Tutoring Services in Spanish

Get free support to help you reach your educational goals. Spanish-speaking Learning Assistants can assist in person or online with course materials, including writing, presenting, reports, and more. In addition, they can help you develop skills such as time management and project organization. A Learning Assistant is a tutor who is embedded in your course.

Learning Assistants are only available to those enrolled in the Spanish courses listed on this page through the Building Puentes program.

The tutoring services are held over Zoom. You can also contact the Learning Assistant in your Canvas course or through your instructor. If you want one-on-one tutoring, contact the Learning Assistants that are listed below.

Making Your Appointment

To schedule a tutor, you must be registered for one of the classes above.

Creating an Appointment in Starfish Step-by-Step (PDF)

1:1 Session (30 - 60 Minutes)

Make sure your browser is set to translate webpages to Spanish.
Visit the Starfish dashboard. Open your calendar. Click on your course. Select “Building Puentes Tutor”.
Alternatively, use this Starfish link to take you directly to the Building Puentes Tutoring scheduling page.
Select “Schedule Appointment.” Tutors’ appointment times will appear.
Choose a time that works best for you.
Submit. You should receive a Zoom link in your WSU student email.

Please make sure your Zoom account is set up before your tutoring session. Visit WSU Zoom and then click "Sign In" to activate your Zoom account.

Drop-In Tutoring

Make sure your browser is set to translate webpages to Spanish.
Visit the Starfish dashboard. Open your calendar. Click on your course. Select “[Drop-In] Building Puentes Tutor”.
Alternatively, use this Starfish link to take you directly to the Building Puentes Drop-In Tutoring page.
Verify the tutor's courses and drop-in hours.
Click on the tutor's Zoom link. You will be directed to the virtual waiting room.
