Volunteer & Work Opportunities

An important part of your degree is gaining experience outside the classroom through volunteer, internship, and work opportunities. If you’d like to have an opportunity posted on this page, please contact Alicia Guthrie (aliciaguthrie1@weber.edu).

Wildcat Advantage Program

Weber State is committed to providing transformative experiences for all students and creating access to these experiences. The HIEEs Pay Program removes barriers for students to participate in high impact educational experiences (HIEEs). These experiences help WSU students achieve their educational and professional goals and better prepare them for future opportunities. Under the HIEEs Pay Program, students earn $11.50 an hour and are eligible to earn up to $1500 to participate in these experiences.

Postbacc Programs

Postbacc Neuroscience Prep Program

Are you a student in Psych Science/Neuroscience who wants, but doesn't feel prepared, to apply to graduate programs in Neuroscience? A posbacc prep program at Washington University (NeuroPrep) may be a great option. This two-year program is geared toward individuals from backgrounds underrepresented in science who had limited opportunity for research experience.

Delaware Bridge Program

This two-year, post-baccalaureate fellowship program is designed to provide students from underrepresented groups (first-generation college students, students from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds, underrepresented minorities) with intensive training in data science and applying it to studying the brain and behavior. Along with graduate-level coursework, BRIDGE scholars will engage in mentored research and professional development from multiple mentors at our university. Our goal is to provide students with the experience necessary to be competitive for graduate school. After completing the program, all BRIDGE scholars will receive a certificate in Data Science and Psychology from the University of Delaware.

We are looking for applicants who will be competitive for graduate school but may not yet have competitive applications for graduate school. All applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents and have a bachelor's degree upon starting the program. We strongly encourage applications from students who have faced significant challenges to apply.

Thanks to generous support from the National Science Foundation and the University of Delaware, all BRIDGE scholars will receive full financial support during the program. Please see their webpage for more information about the program, admissions, coursework, research, and career guidance & mentorship. There are other similar BRIDGE programs at the following institutions:
