Take a Course with the Global Learning (GLB) Course Attribute
You can acquire global learning experiences in our Weber State GLB attribute courses without going abroad too!

Who is eligible?
- All students. If a student is part of a course with a GLB attribute, that does not automatically enroll them in the Wildcat Advantage program. To sign up, get started here.
What is the time commitment?
- Depending on the course, it can be either a block course or a full-semester course.
How do I participate in this HIEE?
- Students that sign up for a course with a GLB course attribute, and complete the course with a passing grade. Verify participation with Shannon Sandau.
What information will I verify in GivePulse?
- The course title, materials covered in the course, and global learning outcomes.
What should I include in my portfolio?
- A reflection of learning outcomes and skills developed in class.
Can this HIEE be repeated?
- Yes, but not with the same course. It must be a different course within the GLB course attribute.

Co-curricular Activities
From “buddy system” to helping to organize international student events, Weber State offers a variety of engagement opportunities for students to learn about each other’s cultures and be more engaged global citizens.

Who is eligible?
- All students. However, the "Buddy Program" and "Mentor Program" is only eligible to those that have been selected.
What is the time commitment?
- It varies between activities/events.
How do I participate in this HIEE?
- Please reach out to Shannon Sandau expressing interest in participating in the International Student activities.
- If you have been assigned as a "Buddy" or "Mentor" and you fulfill your role for the extent of the semester.
- You will be assigned an event/activity to help plan and run. Some of these activities include, but are not limited to, International Education Week in the fall and the International Banquet in the spring.
- If you have an internationally-minded project you would like to complete, this may also be considered a HIEE. If you have ideas or questions, please reach out to Shannon Sandau.
What information will I verify in GivePulse?
- You will verify the hours spent participating in the planning/execution of the event and the learning outcomes.
What should I include in my portfolio?
- Your portfolio should reflect what skills you developed and how this experience will help you in the future.
Can this HIEE be repeated?
- Yes! There are always different events or activities where student participation is needed.
