International Student Health Insurance
International students who are enrolled in classes are automatically enrolled in the Weber State University international student health insurance plan through Cigna Global, brought to by Academic Health Plans. The plan uses the Cigna Open Access PPO network of providers, per the official PPM. Health insurance is required for all international students and scholars in an F or J visa category.
Step 1: Access Your Insurance
After your enrollment is processed:
- Watch for your Welcome Email from Cigna to get your Cigna ID card (usually 7–10 days after enrollment).
- Create your account.
- Download your digital insurance ID card.
- Keep your ID card with you whenever you visit a doctor, urgent care, or hospital.

Before you need medical care, take a few minutes to understand your benefits.
- What services are covered
- Where to receive care
- What you'll pay (copays, deductible, etc.)
- How to find an in-network provider

Ogden Clinic
Eligible Weber State students may visit Ogden Clinic – Professional North for common illnesses and injuries.
Insurance is not required. If you have insurance, Ogden Clinic can submit a claim on your behalf for any out-of-pocket costs.
Bring your health insurance ID card. Ogden Clinic will verify your eligibility and explain your coverage.
