Honors Graduates

HONORS GRADUATION INFORMATION

Congratulations! You’re almost at the finish line of your Honors journey. To make sure you graduate with Honors recognition, please review the checklist that applies to your path.

Foundation & University Honors Students

  1. Verify you have fulfilled all HNRS coursework requirements (10 credits for Foundation, 15 credits for University).
  2. If you enrolled in Honors post-2024, make sure your portfolio is completed and submitted via the Honors Canvas page.
    Note: Students enrolled prior to 2024 do not have a portfolio requirement. Check your Honors contract via the Honors Student Portal to confirm your requirements.
  3. Complete the Honors Graduation Application. If you do not complete this form, you will not graduate with Honors.

Departmental Honors Students

  1. Verify you have completed all Departmental Honors requirements. (Check your requirements by going to the Honors Student Portal and clicking “My Contracts.”)
  2. Contact your Departmental Honors Advisor to let them know you have completed requirements and will be graduating this semester.
  3. Complete the Honors Graduation Application. If you do not complete this form, you will not graduate with Honors.

Deadlines

All students must complete the steps above by the following deadlines:

October 1 for Fall Graduates
March 1 for Spring Graduates
August 1 for Summer Graduates

Note: You may not have all requirements completed by these dates, but you must still submit the Graduation Application and confirm your path if you intend to complete requirements by graduation. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee your Honors recognition materials will be prepared.

Honors Regalia

Regalia & Recognition

  • Foundation & Departmental Honors: Receive an Honors cord.
  • University Honors: Receive an Honors stole.
  • All Honors Pathways: Receive a certificate of completion signed by the Honors Director and University President.

Regalia pickup options are indicated in the Graduation Application. The easiest way is at Grad Finale, but you may also pick up from the Honors Center. If you cannot reasonably visit campus, your regalia can be mailed—please provide a mailing address in your application.

In addition to your regalia and certificate, your Honors distinction will be noted on your official transcript and diploma.
