Meet your advisors

Emily Briggs

I advise for programs in the Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Construction Building Sciences, and School of Computing departments. 

I am an Academic Advisor passionate about helping students feel empowered about their future. I have a background in psychology, so I am interested in YOU! I love coaching rugby, playing video games, and going on adventures with my family and shepherd-husky. I'm from Minnesota originally so if you know any watering-holes here in Utah let me know!

Julie Christensen

I advise students in Computer Science, Cybersecurity and Network Management, and Web UX, which makes up the School of Computing. I also am an academic coach working with the CS Flex online program.

When not working, I enjoy hiking, building puzzles, home renovations, spending time with my family,
and family history research.

Nicole Clark

I am the Graduate Enrollment Advisor for EAST. I help students navigate the admissions process and get started in our master’s programs.

In my free time, I enjoy running, hiking, and baking banana bread with the help of my cats, Ginger and Juno. I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Professional Communication here at Weber State, and I’ve been a Wildcat since my high school concurrent enrollment days. I’m excited to get to know you and support your graduate journey!

 

 

Pat DeJong

I advise the School of Computing, which includes Computer Science, Cybersecurity and Network Management, and WEB UX.  

I can be found volunteering at events encouraging students to major in STEM fields. In my spare time, I love to hike, kayak, and camp in National Parks.

Aimee Golden

My advising specialty is Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering.

In my free time, I enjoy reading books and expanding my library. I also love exploring the outdoors with my dog, Kara, and attempting to learn how to kayak and paddleboard. Most often, you can find me playing a cozy video game, hanging with my cats, and listening to a podcast.

Rainie Ingram

I am the Graduate Enrollment Director for EAST. I enjoy hiking, yoga, and being outside. I have a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, and an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies, all from Weber State.

I have loved my experiences at Weber State, and I hope you will too!

Angie Payan

Welcome to EAST! I specialize in supporting students within the Mechanical Engineering department and the Electrical & Computer Engineering department. As a first-generation student myself, I am deeply passionate about helping you navigate higher education and succeed—even when the odds feel stacked against you. When I am not on campus, you can find me diving into a research project, reading a good book, or fly fishing. At home, I love spending time caring for my chickens and kittens.

Julia Rice "Rice"

Hello Wildcats!

I’m an Academic Advisor for the School of Computing, supporting students across Computer Science, Cybersecurity and Network Management and Web UX. I am proud to advise our military-affiliated students (Chapters 30, 31, 33 and 35) within the School of Computing. 

I’m a University of Washington grad and a U.S. Navy Vet. I participate with the VA, Wounded Warrior Project and Semper Fi. Outside of work, I’m usually in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes (dreaming of opening my own restaurant one day!). I love coaching my little one’s teams and going on adventures wherever it takes us, usually Disney. I’m a big sports (Go Seahawks) and sci-fi fanatic. Above all, the most rewarding title is being a Mom!

Tanya Scott

I am a College Advisor for EAST majors with a passion for helping others. I enjoy working out, cooking, and spending time with my family.

Fun fact, I graduated college with my son in the Spring of 2021 and we walked in the Graduation ceremony together on the football field. As WSU alumni we bleed purple.

Jessica Slater

Passionate about automotive education, dedicated to supporting students, and committed to
continuously improving the program's quality and relevance within the automotive industry.

Paige Young

I am the Faculty Advisor for the Professional Sales Department and advise all the Professional Sales
Majors, Minors, and Sales BIS students.

During my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my two daughters Paisley & Aspen, my two dogs Rusko and Aurora, and my Husband Braden. I also enjoy working out in my home gym, listening to true crime stories, and in the Summer going to Lagoon with my family.

David Woolley

I advise the School of Computing, which includes Computer Science, Cybersecurity and Network Management, and WEB UX. 

I enjoy playing sports, watching movies, doing puzzles, and spending time with my wife and son. Weber State is a great place to be and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
