Early College
How Does It Work
Early College allows high school students to earn college credit on one of Weber State’s campuses before high school graduation. All applicants must reside in Utah in order to participate in Early College.
Sophomores
Have an Index Score of 110 or higher and a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. Sophomores may register for only 7 credits or two classes each semester starting the fall of their 10th grade year.
Juniors and Seniors
Have an Index Score of 106 or higher and a cumulative GPA of a 3.25 or higher.
Home school students can utilize these alternative eligibility requirements if they do not have a high school GPA.
Students applying for admissions into Early College as a high school student will need to provide a high school transcript from an accredited high school showing completed coursework equivalent to their high school graduation year. In addition, proof of enrollment at the high school will need to be confirmed through the completion of the high school counselor contract.
There is not a deadline to complete the application process; however, the sooner you apply, the better. We recommend you apply at least two weeks before the first day of the semester that you wish to begin taking courses.
How Much Does It Cost
Early College students pay tuition and fees just like regular WSU students. The amount of tuition and fees depends on the number of credit hours for which you register.
