Applications open each year on Sept. 1 for the following year. Students are encouraged to complete the application as soon as possible as funds are limited. Academic Early College Scholarships may be awarded up to $1,000 per semester (up to $2,000 per academic year) for tuition-only for up to 6 semesters as funds are available.
Eligibility Requirements For:
High School Sophomores:
- Have an index score of 110 or higher
- Have a cumulative high school GPA and WSU GPA (if applicable) of a 3.25 or higher to be awarded
- Need to keep and maintain a cumulative WSU GPA of a 3.25 or higher
- Be a legal U.S. citizen and have established Utah residency
High School Juniors and Seniors:
- Have an index score of 106 or higher
- Have a cumulative high school GPA and WSU GPA (if applicable) of a 3.25 or higher to be awarded
- Need to keep and maintain a cumulative WSU GPA of a 3.25 or higher
- Be a legal U.S. citizen and have established Utah residency

- Log into your eWeber portal and search for Financial Aid & Scholarships
- Click on Specialized Scholarship Application
- Select the appropriate award year then click the "Specialized Scholarship Application" button
- Answer the questions listed, and then scroll down and enter your anticipated enrollment
- In the last essay box Departmental Scholarships enter Early College
- Click Submit
Accepting the Academic Early College Scholarship
- Log into your eWeber portal and search for Financial Aid & Scholarships
- Click on View & Accept Your Award
- Select the appropriate Aid Year then click submit
- Click on the Accept Award Offer tab
- Click on the drop-down box, select Accept
- Click Submit
Deferring the Academic Early College Scholarship
- If you are awarded an Academic Scholarship and do not plan on taking classes during the Fall semester of the academic year for which you were awarded, you must complete the Early College Academic Scholarship Deferment Form by May 1. Failure to do so may result in funds being revoked and awarded to another student. Contact your Early College Advisor with any questions.
