Information on Academic Integrity
Academic integrity enables students, faculty and staff to engage in intellectual and scholarly activities honestly, fairly and ethically. In order to practice academic integrity students, faculty and staff need to be able to:
- Access, find, evaluate and use appropriate information and media resources for academic research.
- Follow copyright laws and understand the principles of educational fair use.
- Cite and document research resources and always give accurate credit.
- Take careful notes and appropriately paraphrase and summarize information.
- Not engage in plagiarism or collusion by not copying others.
- Not copy media or engage in illegal file sharing.
- Protect personal privacy in the electronic age.
