Cross Country Ski Day

Join us for a Cross Country Ski Day! This trip is a chance to slow down, build foundational skiing skills, and enjoy the beauty of winter. No prior cross-country skiing experience is required; this trip is designed for beginners and those looking to build confidence on skis. We’ll take time for instruction, breaks, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the scenery.

Cross Country Ski Day: February 28th, 2026 | 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

WSU Student: $30 | WSU Faculty/Staff: $40  | General Public: $50


Skill Level: Beginner 
Fitness Level: Moderate
Age: 18+


Transportation: Transportation can be provided upon request - others will plan to meet at the trailhead. Specific trailhead TBD.

Provided: Cross Country skis, boots, and any needed day pass for site access will be provided by the Outdoor Program. If you need to rent cross country skis, boots, or poles, please contact the rental shop ASAP to make your reservation.

Gear You Need to Bring: Please bring your own day pack, food, water, appropriate layers***, and sun protection

***Dressing in appropriate layers is essential for comfort and safety during high output aerobic winter activities.  Be sure to wear wool or synthetic fabrics only (NO COTTON).  You should have a light wicking base-layer (long johns/janes), a light windproof layer (soft shell or windbreaker), a warm insulating layer (fleece, wool or puffy jacket), and depending on the forecast, a sturdy shell (rain jacket) is appropriate.  Heavy ski jackets are NOT recommended.
