Bachelor of Arts in History Teaching
In addition to studying history, you’ll learn to effectively present your knowledge to a range of students using advanced teaching methods. Our history teaching graduates become secondary school history teachers and go on to graduate studies.

Social Science Composite Teaching
Along with the benefits of earning your bachelor’s in history, our teaching composite program prepares you to teach a range of social science subjects, including history, political science, sociology, anthropology, psychology and geography.

Our minors offer research and analytical skills to complement any field of study.

Outstanding Faculty
Tracey Smith won a 2024 Faculty Award from the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at BYU and the 2022 Outstanding Faculty in Honors Award
Leah LaGrone was recognized with the spring 2024 Outstanding Honors Faculty Award.
Professor Matt Romaniello received a 2022 Franklin Research Grant from the American Philosophical Society to conduct research in the United Kingdom for his new book, Unplanned Obsolescence: Modernity and the Loss of the Natural World, a study of sustainable materials before the industrial era.
