Information for Faculty

Faculty play an important part in the implementation of accommodations. Disability Services staff reviews accommodation requests on an individual basis to determine whether accommodations are reasonable and appropriate. An accommodation should never fundamentally alter the essential elements of a course’s objectives. Accommodations provide equitable access and are not a guarantee for success.

An approved disability accommodation should never be denied by an instructor. If you have questions or concerns about an accommodation or would like to discuss how an accommodation might be implemented in the classroom, please contact Disability Services.

Remember that it is never appropriate to ask a student about their disability or assume they have a disability. Disability Services maintains confidentiality regarding a student’s disability.

Thank you for your support.
