The Department of Associate Degree in Nursing offers two ACEN-accredited programs: the 4-semester Registered Nurse (RN) program and the 2-semester Practical Nurse to Registered Nurse (PN to RN) program. Whether you are just starting your nursing education or are already a licensed practical nurse, the Department of Associate Degree in Nursing at Weber State University provides a supportive, student-centered pathway to becoming a healthcare professional.
ADN PROGRAMS
The ADN Department prepares students in the 4-semester RN program to graduate with an Associate of Science (AS) degree. The 2-semester PN to RN program prepares students to graduate with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or an Associate of Science (AS) degree.
Upon graduation, students in both programs will be eligible to take the National Council of State Boards of Nursing exam (NCLEX-RN) to become a licensed registered nurse. With your associate's degree and RN licensure, you can succeed in a variety of healthcare settings, such as hospitals, physicians' offices, home healthcare settings, and nursing care facilities.

4-Semester RN Program
Meant for students who are just starting their nursing education, the 4-semester RN program prepares ADN students for entry-level clinical practice as a registered nurse. The 4-semester RN program students will have didactic courses, participate in lab and simulation learning on campus, and attend clinical and capstone rotations with our community partners to prepare them for their future as a licensed registered nurse.
Students currently enrolled in the 4-semester RN program will be eligible to take the National Council of State Boards of Nursing exam (NCLEX-PN) to become a licensed practical nurse after the first two semesters. Upon graduation, 4-semester RN program students can take the National Council of State Boards of Nursing exam (NCLEX-RN) to become a licensed registered nurse.
If you are already a licensed practical nurse and would like to become a licensed registered nurse, see our 2-semester PN to RN program.

2-Semester PN to RN Program
Intended for licensed practical nurses or those who have successfully graduated from an accredited licensed practical nurse program and are eligible for licensure, our 2-semester PN to RN program offers a pathway to become a Registered Nurse (RN). In just two semesters, students can earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or Associate of Science (AS) degree. The program incorporates cutting-edge technology and innovative learning activities to provide hands-on experience with real-world applications.
After graduation, PN to RN program students will be eligible to take the National Council of State Boards of Nursing licensure exam (NCLEX-RN) to become a licensed registered nurse.
If you have not completed any nursing education, are not a licensed practical nurse, or are not eligible for licensure as a practical nurse, see our 4-semester RN program.
