Sustainability - It's All Interconnected!

Sustainability is about balancing our needs today without jeopardizing future generations' ability to meet theirs. Sustainability encompasses three main pillars: environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Environmental sustainability is all about conserving natural resources and ecosystems to keep our planet thriving. Social sustainability focuses on ensuring fair social systems. Economic sustainability aims to create systems that support long-term growth without harming social or environmental factors. Together, these pillars guide policies and practices that help to enforce a happy existence between human activity and the natural world.

Why Should We Care?

Change doesn't happen over night that much is evident. However, what we do on a daily basis adds up, whether it is good or bad, what we do affects the environment in which we live. If everyone makes one small change that small change builds into one that can potentially make a huge difference. Doing your small part matters, doing your small part makes a difference.

Climate Change Affects Us All

Climate change is sometimes seen as a controversial topic, but it shouldn't be. A lot of misinformation and myths float around dinner tables and office water coolers all around the world. Luckily most of these myths can be debunked with scientific evidence. It is our job as college students to learn, research, and grow especially when our climate is involved. Make sure to do your research!

What is Climate Change?

"Climate change refers to the long-term shifts in temperature and weather patterns. Such shifts can be natural, due to changes in the sun's activity or large volcanic eruptions. But since the 1800s, human activities have been the main driver of climate change, primarily due to burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas." - United Nations
