Mission Statement
The Office of Sponsored Projects serves as the central hub for external research and engagement at Weber State. We empower faculty and staff by providing comprehensive support throughout the grant lifecycle, ensuring institutional compliance, and fostering a vibrant culture of Wildcat innovation and research.
Meet the Team
Leadership
James Taylor
Executive Director
Oversees the strategic direction of OSP and serves as the primary liaison for university leadership and the Technology Commercialization Office (TCO). He specializes in institutional research growth and high-level sponsor relations.
Brooke Lindgren
Director
Leads the Office of Sponsored Projects, overseeing daily operations, strategic initiatives, and institutional research administration. Supports all university departments and colleges throughout the pre-award and proposal development process, serving as Weber State’s Proposal Lead. She is the lead expert for industry-sponsored research, scientific and technical proposals, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
Proposal Development (Pre-Award)
Dana Gibson
Grants Systems Administrator
Supports all university departments and colleges throughout the pre-award and proposal development process. She specializes in the technical lifecycle of a grant, with particular expertise in navigating the unique requirements of community-based and humanities-focused grants.
Research Support & Compliance
Collins Nelson
Grants & Research Support Specialist
Focuses on identifying new funding opportunities and managing institutional data and reporting for OSP. He provides essential operational support for the leadership team and ensures the office’s research analytics and reports are accurate and updated.
Beth Pessetto
Post-Award & Compliance Officer
Oversees the financial integrity of active grants, including all post-award compliance, budget revisions, and reallocations. She provides essential training for new Principal Investigators (PIs) and ensures that all grant-funded projects align with federal and institutional standards throughout their lifecycle.
