Five Outdoor Winter Date Ideas for This Valentines Day

There's something magical and romantic about the Utah outdoors at winter, making it the perfect setting for a Valentines Day or winter day date. If you're still looking for a special way to celebrate, let us help you out! From snowy escapades to cozy hot springs, here are five outdoor winter date ideas to make this Valentine's Day and the month of love unforgettable:

1. Tubing or Sledding

Bundle up and head to a nearby winter resort for an exhilarating tubing adventure. Enjoy the rush of speeding down snow-covered slopes hand in hand. Check out Woodward Park City and Soldier Hollow for thrilling tubing experiences. For a more affordable and convenient option, you could also grab a sled and find a local park with perfect sledding hills and have your own sledding race, or share a sled for maximum romance. 

2. Snowshoeing

Some of our favorite snowshoeing spots to check out include Ogden Nordic or  Farmington Canyon Trail. Discover the beauty of snowy landscapes while enjoying each other's company. Plus you can even rent your snowshoes from our outdoor program rental center for an affordable and convenient option!

3. Skiing or Snowboarding

Hit the slopes for an action-packed day of skiing or snowboarding. Local resort, Nordic Valley, offers discounted night skiing, providing a romantic and budget-friendly option for Valentine's Day. Keep an eye out for Valentine's specials at your other favorite resorts. You can also get your ski or board rentals at our rental center (remember students get 30% off rentals!).

 

4. Hot Springs

Woman looking at a frozen waterfallUnwind and relax at nearby hot springs like Saratoga Hot Springs, Crystal Hot Springs or Ogden Hot Springs. Enjoy the serene atmosphere and rejuvenating thermal waters for a soothing Valentine's retreat. 

This is a great option for a calmer outdoor date and you could make a whole day of it! Go get dinner or lunch before, soak in the hotsprings and then end the night with a treat or dessert! 

5. Stay Indoors and Rock Climb
