History

The School of Computing has probably changed more than any other Department in EAST as computer technology has progressed at lightning speed through the years.  Former Professor Dave Hart (1972 – 2008) has written a very interesting and comprehensive history of the evolution of the School of Computing from his employment in the Department of Data Processing in 1972 to it’s being combined with Accounting to become the Department of Accounting and Data Processing in the School of Business in the late 1970’s, to being called the Department of Computer Science in the School of Technology in 1985 up to his retirement in  2008.
