This support group is an opportunity for WSU LGBTQIA students and allies to gather, learn from each other, and share support. Each group will center around pertinent topics of interest to participants, likely including coming out, self-acceptance, family issues, and dating/relationship challenges.

Transgender and Gender-Nonconforming Support Group

Transgender students encounter unique stressors and experiences other students don’t understand. This group provides group members with the opportunity to explore their unique wants and needs. Peer support and learning from each other will be an important focus.

Black and Belonging Group

This group provides a safe space for Black students, of all cultural backgrounds, to come together to process racial trauma and experiences of discrimination.  This space will encourage exploration of what it means to be Black and how that relates to other held identities.  Focus will be on creating support within the group to foster healing within the larger community.

Do you have a hard time connecting with others? Social anxiety, insecurity, depression, and other mental health concerns can hold many people back from building and maintaining close relationships. This group can help you learn more about yourself and how to build better relationships with others.

This support group is an opportunity for students of color to gather, learn from each other, and share support. Each group will center around pertinent topics of interest to participants, likely including belonging, self-acceptance, navigating college, relationship difficulties, etc.

religious and spiritual processing Group

An open and supportive space to explore questions and doubts related to religion, spirituality, and faith. This group is for students in all stages of faith transitions, and students from all religious/faith/spiritual backgrounds are welcome. Faith exploration and spiritual doubt can be an isolating and intimidating process. Come and explore your thoughts and questions in an open and accepting environment, as well as build community with others who are on their own journeys with faith and doubt.

A pre-group interview is required.

Men's Group Group

The Men's Self-Discovery Group is a place for male-identified individuals to gather, explore ideas, provide encouragement, and share support for one another in a safe and confidential space. In this group, we will discuss many topics pertaining to mental health and well-being, such as compassion, relationships, self-acceptance, managing difficult emotions, developing inner strength, finding meaning and purpose, and many other topics that arise in the therapeutic setting.

Learn research-based skills that will help you increase closeness and friendship in your relationship, address conflict productively, and build a life of shared meaning together. This workshop is for all couples in a committed relationship. Both strong and distressed relationships will benefit.
