Wellness Coaching Interest Area

Health promotion majors can include a wellness coaching emphasis while working on their health promotion degree.

What is Wellness Coaching?

Wellness coaching is a growing profession rooted in applied behavioral science and adult development, which has recently incorporated positive psychology.

Behavioral scientists have demonstrated that one-on-one coaching is one of the most effective methods to assist individuals in making and maintaining positive changes in their lives. The bond between a coach and a client provides significant support, guidance, and motivation for making positive changes. A coach helps clients realize their full potential by focusing on their values, vision, and goals and supporting them toward their realization.
