Our health promotion program teaches you how to improve people’s health status and quality of life through positive lifestyle habits and healthy behaviors. Graduates go on to rewarding careers in a variety of health and wellness programs.
You can earn your BS or minor in health promotion, or you can make health promotion an emphasis for your Bachelor of Integrated Studies.
Our physical education programs provide you with an understanding of the scientific foundations of physical education and the skills you’ll need for a career in teaching physical education.
You can earn a major or minor in physical education teaching, a minor in physical education, a minor in sport coaching education, or choose physical education or sport coaching education as a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies emphasis.
All WSU students can register for physical education activity classes.
Our outdoor and community recreation education program prepares you for careers in the recreation industry, including opportunities in public parks, community recreation facilities and outdoor adventure programs.
You can earn your BS with an emphasis in outdoor recreation administration or community recreation administration. We also offer a recreation minor and a Bachelor of Integrated Studies emphasis in recreation.

No matter your game, our sport coaching education program can teach you skills to become a successful sports coach.
Along with a minor in sport coaching education, we offer a Bachelor of Integrated Studies emphasis in coaching sport, along with a dual minor in sport coaching and physical education teaching.
This degree is designed to help coaches grow both in their sport knowledge and their coaching skills, as well as their personal development. Students will have the opportunity to reflect on their coaching styles and how each subject can contribute to athletes' learning and improvement. The program also includes training on how to coach a group of student-athletes, helping each one reach their full potential.
