Professional Licensure
Students who complete the dental hygiene program, whether with an associate or bachelor’s degree, must be licensed in order to practice as a dental hygienist.
Licensure Typically Requires

Successful completion of the National Board Examination.

A regional examination.

A written local anesthesia examination (some states may require a clinical exam).
