About Weber State Cybersecurity Club
Welcome to the Weber State Cybersecurity Club! We are a dynamic, student-run organization dedicated to exploring the practical, technical, and ethical sides of cybersecurity. Our mission is to build a thriving community where Wildcat students can collaborate on projects, find career opportunities, collaborate on coursework, and connect with like-minded peers and industry professionals.
How To Join
Getting started is simple. Follow these two steps to get involved:
- Official Registration: Head over to the Weber State Clubs & Organizations portal to officially register as a club member.
- Join Our Discord: Our community lives on Discord! It is the fastest way to get real-time club updates, event changes, class help, and network with other members.
- Next Step: Head straight to the
#sign-inchannel when you arrive to get full access to the server.
What We Do
We bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world execution. Our activities dive deep into the diverse facets of the cyber world:
Hands-on Tool Workshops:
Get practical experience using industry-standard tools like Wireshark, Nmap, Metasploit, and Linux command-line utilities.
Defensive & Offensive Puzzles:
Engage in Capture the Flag (CTF) challenges and TryHackMe rooms to build practical problem-solving methodologies.
Career Readiness & Networking:
Benefit from dedicated technical resume reviews, LinkedIn optimization workshops, and mock interviews tailored for security roles.
Industry Connections:
Learn directly from cybersecurity professionals through guest speaker events and regional conferences, including funded trips to events like the Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) conference.
