The Department of Athletic Training & Occupational Therapy
The Department of Athletic Training & Occupational Therapy offers students exceptional experiences through multiple unique undergraduate degree programs that lead to rewarding careers in healthcare.
With a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences, students will be well prepared for graduate programs in Utah and beyond, such as a Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT), Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), or occupational therapy (OT), medicine (MD or DO), chiropractic (DC) and physician assistant (PA) school.
Students in our department have a direct pathway to apply for Weber State University's new Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program, designed for students who want a hands-on, client-centered role in improving lives through meaningful occupations.

REHABILITATION SCIENCES (RHS)
Take your first step towards graduate studies in the fields of athletic training, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant medicine, chiropractic, or medical school by learning the basics of sports medicine, injury evaluation and management, and rehabilitation, with a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences.
You’ll learn from our experienced faculty through flexible course delivery formats, and learn core competencies including emergency care, orthopedic assessment, therapeutic modalities, rehabilitation, and more.
WSU’s Division of Online & Continuing Education also offers an online rehabilitation sciences degree.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT (OTA)
Our new Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree program is designed for compassionate individuals who want to help others achieve their fullest potential.
Occupational therapy helps people of all ages develop, recover, or maintain the skills they need for daily life, which are also known as occupations. Whether it's getting dressed, returning to work, or participating in school, occupational therapy focuses on what matters most to each individual.
Starting in the fall of 2026, students who have successfully completed the program prerequisites will be able to begin an exciting pathway toward a fulfilling, sought-after, and well-paid career/

Our department has an accelerated MSAT pathway where you can receive a bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation sciences, plus an MSAT in 5 years.
