Students pursuing an anthropology degree at Weber State dig into the past to better inform the decisions we make in the present.

Graduates are well prepared for roles in business, research, education, advocacy, public service, community work, and many other fields that value the ability to understand people, solve complex problems, and work effectively across cultures.
Our anthropology program prepares you for a wide variety of jobs, gives you opportunities to do field research and examine artifacts and specimens in our three high-tech laboratories: the Biological Anthropology Lab, the Archaeology Lab, and the Paleoenvironmental Lab.
Anthropology Bachelor’s Degree
We offer a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Anthropology with tracks in general anthropology and archaeology.
General Anthropology Track
As a student in this track, you will take fundamental and advanced anthropology courses, as well as various elective classes such as forensic anthropology, cultural anthropology, anthropology of religion, or other specialized areas tailored to your academic interests. Majors in the General Anthropology Track earn their degree in 39 credit hours.

Archaeology Track
The archaeology track provides you with the knowledge and experience to enter graduate programs and get archaeology jobs with public and private companies. Majors in the Archaeology Track earn their degree in 42 credit hours.
Students participate in our summer Archaeological Field School and develop skills in excavation, artifact classification, identifying faunal remains, mapping, and basic surface survey methods. The field school is required for this track.
