Clubs and Organizations

Interested in joining an anthropology, geography, or sociology club? Check out the three clubs and organizations hosted in the Department of Anthropology, Geography & Sociology and find out how easy and rewarding it is to get involved.

Anthropology Club

WSU's Anthropology Club is a great way to get involved outside the classroom, from guest lecturers and workshops to field trips and service projects.

Anthropology Club is run by students for students. Our members represent the discipline of anthropology across campus and are involved in a variety of university and community organizations. We welcome all WSU anthropology students.

Mission Statement

To promote anthropological interests and awareness; to enhance educational opportunities of the department and provide further enrichment outside the classroom; to publicly recognize student excellence in anthropology; and to foster ties between the university and community, as well as other anthropological organizations and departments on campus.

Geography Club

The Geography Club brings together students who are passionate about exploring the world, cultures and the environment through events, field trips and discussions. The club fosters curiosity and engagement with local and global geographic issues.

Contact faculty advisor Maria Groves at mgroves1@weber.edu for general questions or information on becoming a Geography Club member or officer.

Sociology Club

Sociology Club is a student-run organization dedicated to the study and application of sociology, not only on campus, but also in the community and in preparation for higher learning and excellence in the career world.

What We Do

We are sociologists (albeit in-the-making), and our activities are grounded in, and in the service of, sociology as a discipline. From conducting our own research and attending presentations to holding club socials, there's typically something going on.

Why Get Involved?

The Sociology Club is a good time!

Our club is an excellent resource for you to get to know others who share your passion for sociology, share your ideas and gain useful insight and experience that can apply to your work in the classroom and in your career.
