Life Insurance

Weber State University has contracted with Sun Life Financial  to provide group life insurance. The group life insurance for benefits-eligible employees is a double indemnity coverage (2 X salary, 2 X salary accidental). The university pays for the first $50,000 of your life insurance. A small life insurance coverage for spouse and dependents is available for a minimal charge.

This policy includes additional perks such as:

• Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage of up to an additional 2 times salary
• Assist America
• Com Psych Employee Assistance Program through Sun Life
• Guidance Resources Program

Weber State University also offers Basic Dependent Life at .50 per pay period. This covers all eligible dependents of the employee. The employee is responsible for contacting Human Resources to cancel this benefit as well as any voluntary life insurance benefit on dependents who are no longer eligible due to aging out at 26 years old.
