Educators, employers, graduate and professional schools all understand the value of an undergraduate research experience. Consequently, the University Undergraduate Research Committee and the Office of Undergraduate Research have worked to provide these experiences to students throughout Weber State University.

Undergraduate research has long been an important part of the college experience at Weber State University. During 2007-2008, a total of 55 research projects were funded through the OUR, with 19 funded for travel purposes. This allowed students to present their research findings at various national and international conferences. Because of this and other funding programs, the Office of Undergraduate Research distributed in excess of $ 152,000 in funds to support undergraduate research at Weber State.

Additionally, the Fourth Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium and Celebration was held on Monday, March 24, 2008 with a total of 155 students participating campus-wide. This included 56 poster displays, 40 oral presentations and 3 musical performances.
